Hotchkiss publishes how its aid works, and the main points are short. Aid is need-based, awards are grants, and the application runs through one platform.
How aid is decided
Awards are based solely on a family's demonstrated financial need. Hotchkiss says its awards meet 100 percent of demonstrated need and consist of grants with no loans. It also says it admits students only if it can meet their financial need.

- More than $13.9 million in financial support each year.

How to apply for aid
- Applications go through the Clarity Tuition platform.
- The deadline for new applicants is January 15, 2027. Funds are not reserved for late applicants.
- Both the custodial and the non-custodial parent must submit an application.
- Aid is reviewed every year, and families must reapply each year.
- Award details reach newly admitted families with the decision on March 10, 2027.
- A family can appeal an award.
A planning tip
Gather tax documents before you open the form. If your family does not apply at admission, the school says it is unlikely to qualify later without a significant change in circumstances.
